My Own Tita Cory

My “Own Tita Cory”

Well like I’ve said, I LOVE KRIS. Hihihihiihihi! In fact I even have my own “Tita Cory”, my Mom, Ms. Victoria Rosales Argonza.

(at the pic at the right is my mom in Luneta circa 85')

I wanted to post this blog after the masses HAVE had they’re fix of the Cory Magic. (thanks to my sister RC for the correction LOLZ i am so spoiled by MS Word) I saw a lot of blogs on how this and that was in EDSA, EDSA2 and EDSA3. Correction there is only one EDSA. The EDSA Revolution of 1986 – a revolution that was not powered by any mobile phone company or blatant advertising posters.

While everybody was so gaga over the recent death of Tita Cory, I was a bit angry and seen as somewhat like a kill-joy. Hey Tita Cory might be great, sure but her death deserves respect and to be honored and not to be used for any political purpose. For crying out loud she was a human being too you know, a wife and mother – who happened to be the right face for the “revolution”. While everybody was in awe, I was like… DUH!!! Our politicians did nothing, the people was all eyes on Cory’s death, even declared it a holiday. If you wanted to honor Cory the right way then you should follow her example, ala “pay-it-forward” then you can visit her grave later when there’s less people, and while you’re there you can put a rose on my grandmother’s grave who got stepped on during the “Cory Magic Burial” and Ninoy’s burial.

Sure call me a kill-joy; but where you even in EDSA? I was! We don’t even have to go there. Before, we used to live in Tondo when I was around 10yo, Tondo was Marcos heaven, and our house had a big NINOY flag – our house got stoned on several occasions.

Anyways back to my “Tita Cory”. My mom!!! During her college years she was an activist who was against the Marcos regime. She believed that the former president was a tyrant.

When the Cory Magic and EDSA thingies came – my mom was part of NAMFREL (sort of a vote counting org) and other organizations. She was along those people who stopped the tanks. She was there while the counting of the ballots. She wanted democracy to work, she wanted freedom.

She sighed, fought, smiled, smirked, a little jump, skip and maybe a couple of pirouettes she got what she was fighting for. EDSA became something else other than just “Highway 54”. Cory became president and the rest was history.

What happened to my mom? The day Cory died, I woke up early to get ready for work and I wanted to have breakfast and coffee with my mom… so I told her “Ma Cory just died, can you watch out for the news/eulogy…” she said “Pagod na akong manuod ng Sarsuwela* ” (* a literary drama). I wasn’t surprised with her remark. She was broken hearted by the promises of the Cory Magic.

What happened to the Philippines after Marcos? Did we get better? Sure we are FREE for the price of what? Filipinos are so undisciplined, corruption left and right, our culture is dying, we’ve become even more Americanized, our way of thinking has become more cynical and jaded. The Chinese are now on top in our own country. We are no longer an agricultural power; in fact we became the largest importer of rice. WHAT THE HELL?!?!?!?!?!?!

What?!?!?! SAGOT!!!!! (answer!!!) Where are the people who took advantage of a young and idealistic “Vicky”, who practically risked her life for EDSA.

The price of freedom is incomparable to the price of feeding the Filipinos. Yes I believe the Filipino people are worth dying for… BUT should I even bother? YES!!! DUH!!!

We cant and should not wait for our own government to work for us. Lets face it some of us are stupid and voted for them. They’re in power because of our own stupidity. Stop blaming this stupid government – they wouldn’t be in power if it wasn’t because of us!

We are a DEMOCRACY – a government for the people, by the people – NOT poor the people and BUY the people. We have brains; we know what’s right and wrong.

Now if you are gonna be some wise-crackin biatch and ask me what we can do here’s some ideas you might want to use:

  1. Work, as diligently and professional as possible – then pay your taxes properly
  2. Encourage your church to focus more on socio-civic activities like Sport Activities or a Farmer’s/Flea Market event rather than focusing on political activities.
  3. Have your own small business; employing other people is a noble and charitable work in my own opinion, but of course you have to be a good employer.
    1. I met a cebuano taxi driver, he was a driver in Saudi, and started to buy taxi’s and FISHBALL carts – he now has 5 taxis and 50 fishball carts, just imagine the moolah he makes everyday. He didn’t even finish grade school.
    2. My Mom has employed several unskilled workers before and has trained them, some of them have they’re own business now, some are managers or supervisors , but all of them were none college grads. When I was in grade school my level of intelligence was far more advanced than these guys where, but they had “Ate Vicky”.
  4. VOTE WISELY – nuff said.
  5. Pray – sure you can always do this but I really prefer prayer, faith coupled with good-works is the best way to go.
    1. BE SENSIBLE and COURTEOUS
    2. Common Sense and Common Courtesy are not so common nowadays.

No I have no plans of running for president, what I want is politics in its real form and not what you see in the news.

There are so many simple ways to improve our country and we are letting other companies like our stupid media giants GMA7 and ASB-CBN2 turn us into dumb gossip freaks. (example the Gloria Dinner – DUH its for how many people?)

Oh I am not gonna fight for Gloria, I’m as disappointed as the next bloke. BUT I DIDN’T VOTE FOR HER nor did I go to EDSA 2 – if you are so pissed at her and want her dead – shoot those who went to EDSA 2 first then the ones who voted for her.

Now I’d like to encourage people to share their own EDSA Revolution stories or POVs. Its ok if you don’t agree with me or not, at least words may be mightier than the sword but it won’t make you bleed.

PEACE!

My answer to the Philippine Daily Inquirer "My Vote My Turn" Contest thingie....

Warning: My maldita mode was on....... sooooo hihihihhi

My answer to the Philippine Daily Inquirer "My Vote My Turn" Contest thingie....

Today I was reading the new papers... well I have two, anyways after reading the usual crap on the local papers, I saw PDI's (Philippine Daily Inquirer) "My Vote My Turn" (todays PDI at page A20) I think its some sort of contest ... although no DTI reg # so i guesss its not a real contest. ENIWEIZ..........I kindah didnt have a good response to it...

Youre supposed to fill out a clip with blanks...... yeah another fill in the blanks thingie, kindah trivial for me so i answered it :D (thanks to Facebook for making me addictive to trivial stuff)

Hot Topic/s: “The Renaissance of the Philippines – Global Competitiveness by Applying both Old and New Ideas” (this made me feel like a Miss U Candidate!!! HAHAHAHA)
What our country needs is a rebirth, but usually rebirth just entails the NEW, a young fledgling with out the guidance of the old will commit the same mistakes again, thus we need to look at the old, the Best practices of our predecessors coupled with the new technologies at hand will certainly put us back on the global window again.
  • Something Old? We used to be an agricultural giant. Why not we look into that again with applying new technology to revitalize our agricultural sector.
  • Something New? Seriously, nothing is new nowadays, most are just “revitalized” concepts. But to just “humor” you, why don’t we have a real R&D department. A real government office that focuses on Filipino Inventors. Something we could capitalize on. There are lots of businessmen out there who needs a certain product/service to sell or to help his business. Then we create something new with a little application from the old.

Character trait: A firm Leader who loves his people.
Someone once said (I think it was Ghandi) – “the best form of government is a Democracy lead by a tyrant who is loved by his people”
  • I believe in this one. A firm leader with firm values but flexible enough to cope with the times and hear his people.
  • If he loves his people… he will be loved back, and I don’t want to sound like a Ms U candidate but if you love your people… good will come instantly

Political Hero: My Mom in EDSA Revolution
First; there is only one EDSA Revolution…. And that’s the FIRST ONE!

  • I will not accept another EDSA Revolution with SO MANY COMMERCIALS and even getting text msg’s of EDSA DOS powered by “insert name of fave mobile phone company” - EDSA was not about making MONEY it was about the UNITY of FILIPINOS fighting against a dictator.
  • I nominate my mom as my Political Hero – WHY NOT, shes the one who basically introduced me to Politics. Although POLITICS is supposed to be "for the truth"
  • My mom was in EDSA along with her NAMFREL buddies and church folks. She’s a former activist during the Marcos regime.
  • Where is my mom now? She’s busy with her grandkids and being the cashier in my small business.
  • My mom is broken hearted after EDSA, I could see her sadness and bitterness whenever one mentions anything about the EDSA revolution. So don’t tell me this and that guy was a hero in EDSA……. DUH what happened after EDSA? A hero should be judged by the END RESULTS, this is not a popularity contest. A true hero is not made a hero with just one act; it’s based on his LIFE. His whole life.

Political Scandal: HUH ? Seriously?!?!?!?!?!??!
You trying to be funny or provocative, this does not help our country. Heck there’s too many to mention…. From Aguinaldo/Bonifacio Down to my local Baranggay chairman, and that’s just local…. Where do I START?

  • Yes you are a newspaper with “IDEALS” but you are also a business that needs to earn money, and having something provocative like a survey on who has more “scandal hits” will certainly make a great selling item for your paper but that’s so bad for the image of the Philippines.
  • Why not Inquirer… I’m sure The Inquirer has a lot of political scandals to share.

Well kayo na po ang bahala.......... I know I dont like PDI... and I am doing them a favor by putting them here but hey... share ko lang sainyo hahahaha SOmeone might have a better idea on this.

Globalization or Global America?

Like I've said this is my blog and I can write anything I want ....... about anything or everything.

But in fairness........ I'm a little bit pissed. I don't get this trend of Globalization thingie... is it Globalization or Global America?

This little rant of non-sense came from my talk with my new boss Jefz, and we talking why do people say the Philippines is poor and why is our economy affected by the US. HUH?!?!?!?!

Whenever I check into any trends...... must look into America, research into business... America this America that.

Ok they're probably the so called "Only Super Power" right now but why the hell would my country's economy be dependent on them? Heck why would we depend at America? I just hate the fact that there are so many brainwashed pinoys now that would rather be "stateside" than be home-grown true blue pinoys.

Let me just breathe out some of my non-sense :D

1. If the Philippines gets attacked by any other country.... I dont think America can save us or defend us instantly. In an old "coup d'etat" ahmmmm attempt in the Philippines. Our army was paralyzed by rebels who used old planes.... hahahahahhah. If Korea suddenly bombs us for being a US Ally....... I dont think America can prevent us from glowing.

2. Most of our consumer goods, BASIC necessity comes from somewhere else. Its sad to think my country used to be an agricultural giant in the 50's 60's 70's, but now... heck the International Rice Research Institute is here and yet we have a rice shortage here everynow and then and we even import rice. In fact the Philippines has been accused of affecting the increase of rice prices in the global market. Still i dont think thai imported rice is more expensive from rice imported from the US. Most of our basic needs dont come from the US. What do we need from them??? OFCOURSE - HOLLYWOOD!!!

3. Business with the US. hmmmm debateable; all I know is when Obama said something about bringing "contact-centers" back home and blah blah, we lower employment-salary rates and expectation blah blah.... its better than nothing - :) well the thing is"Amid economic pressure and low operational expenditure from global markets, the country’s contact center business will remain robust until the end of the year, according to a study commissioned by the Contact Center Association of the Philippines (CCAP)." ( from CCAP ) and that "The Call Center Association of the Philippines (CCAP) reported that its revenues has reached the $5 billion mark this year, beating last year’s $4.5 billion." (from CCAP ). So I dunno, why are there many brainwashed pinoys.

4. Medicine and other high tech stuff......yeah I guess they're ahead. But why can't our government do anything to do more. It seems to me that our government is keeping our local geniuses dumb or exporting them. What's happening to the legacy of Filipino inventors like Agapito Flores (although this could now be a myth) and the guy who designed the moon buggy thingie... what ? (ok i'm too lazy to research the internet) and to those kids who recently made a very cheap earthquake detection device... or what about the guy and the water based car?!?!?!?!

5. For me History depends on who pays the historian's funding..... other "colonial conquerors" in the Philippines history where deemed as bad... but if I am not mistaken, there was once a Filipino American War ( The Philippine American War ( 1899 - 1914 ) .........hmmmm

Super mega conspiracy theory na toh!!!

6. The US publicized that the Philippines is a terrorist haven..... we cant even afford guns. Who supplied the guns to the so-called terrorists? Who made them? In proportion to population vs rate - how many filipinos have guns (both legal and illegal) in comparison to the US, how many Filipinos die/get injured due to guns vs to those in the US? If the US wants to point fingers at other countries and call them terrorists.... ei... stop selling weapons!

.........I could rant on and on and sound very anti-america, but my point is not to bash the US, I am just citing the fact that "We, the sovereign Filipino people" as written in our Preamble, have power over our NATION, LAND, and PEOPLE. The US does not have power over us.

Silly fact...... what do you think if all Filipinos in the world will suddenly go on strike? How many skilled Filipino workers are out there? How many of them are in the US? What will happen if all Filipinos go on strike, as in world wide strike???

Practically all major cities in the world have a Filipino Nurse, practically every shipping company has a filipino crewman. How many multi-national businesses will be paralyzed without they're "contact centers".

We Filipinos should start looking into our own capabilities and resources.

How can we be global, how can we go into macro-economics when we ignore micro-economics.

The way I see it.... we've lost our own cultural heritage and identity, a lot of pinoys are so global-america now. Thinking that we need the US. We don't have to rely on them. Heck the cellfone perhaps the Philippines newest "tamagochi" craze - how many millions of pesos is thrown away everyday for sending an SMS thats totally worthless???

Why do I have a feeling our government is really trying to make pinoys more dumber. Instead of being able to compete globally.

The New Star Trek....the Final Frontier?

Ok first things first......... I liked the new Star Trek Movie (2009). OK OK OK I know it may have violated some canon story lines but then again some made sense. I mean how can you keep the Trek story update when the author is already dead. Sad but well as a trekkie (of sorts- I love the Voyager Series), I too hunger for a new Star Trek, and since Gene Roddenberry is no longer amongst us.... how the heck are we gonna get new Treks?

When I first saw the trailers of the new Star Trek movie.., I thought maybe its gonna be a prequel; while i was a bit apprehensive of another prequel since there have been many movie prequels already, I thought "WHY NOT STAR TREK?". It would be nice to know how everything began and saw it on the big screen rather than just reading about it from another trekkie fan.

Its nice to know that its a different timelime... well as for the current Trek, technically its a whole new time line now. Its refreshing but i kindah have some problems with it.

So I am guessing SPACE is not the final frontier now but rather...... its TIME.

The creators of this movie obviously wanted to create a whole new time line, as my friend so lovely put it "its a great way to keep the franchise alive".

Overall I am happy how the movie went, the details was superb BUT the Romulans? Why where the Romulans bald?

Things I liked about the movie??? Hmmm a lot..... The detail - the Starships/technology where apt for the "star date". The detail of the effects me loved it. The STUNTS - well not that flashy but I didnt see much CGI corruption - no offense to other movies but whats the use of STUNTS if its all CGI? or maybe my eyes were just fooled by the editing :D

DOCTOR McCoy (portrayed by Karl Urban) - OMG WHAT A HUNK!!! ME SO LOVE!!!!!!! The rest where cute.... sure Chris Pine was hot as always but argh McCoy with his grrrrr he was just sexy.

Now things i didnt like about it well... hmmm aside from Winona (no offense i like Winona but i didnt feel like she was the right choice for a Vulcan mother). The new time line and how it will affect the rest of the Star Trek Universe.
With now Vulcan gone, where will Tuvok (character in Voyager-Star Trek), whom has saved Capt Janeway (captain of Voyager) several times, and this captain and her crew are supposedly the ones who fought and defeated the Borg.... does this mean we'll see more of the Borg?

Wait wait wait, I love the Borg too and I know they will never really die, Yes i've seen the new Trek Novel with Capt Janeway becoming the new Borg Queen but.......

Ok am ranting..... hehehehehehehehehehehehehehehhe

Like I said ..... Space is no longer the final frontier - TIME IS THE NEW frontier. weeeeee

OMG I am already excited about the next movie, and the possibility of seeing more of the Borg and possibily Species 8472.... OMG i am so excited.

With this new time line I'm pretty sure theres a huge possibility of new "incursions"... The Bad Lands may no longer exist, Klingon peace treaty.... hmmmmm maybe no more.

Races that should've been extinct may now be revived.

The Saurian Race from the Delta Quadrant may return back to Earth.......

Possibilities are endless.

Dark Elf Psy Wiz from Lvl1

OK....... I won't elaborate much on this guide. Since you're looking for info on Psy Wizard then you've most likely have basic knowledge on how to plan out your char.

Making a Psy based wiz from the start? CRAZY.... Y_Y so damn hard. No dmg.?!?!?! I wanna make a psy wiz from lvl 1 but i have no intentions of using a cash shop item in the future. So i cant make a wiz with INT first then later on reset... what do I do??

HOW?????????

Now... when youre making a char - huge tip. Think "outside the box". Example if youre gonna make a PSY - wiz from the start, you might want to use a DAGGER instead of a staff.

Go Psy Vit (3:1), Get the HP boost and 2 crit boosters- Magic Boost and Strong Mind - max out those 3 buffs. Get a nice dagger with +melee dmg(str adds melee too and pdef) and if possible put a crit option on it - Water Bottle of Marea.

The only attack spell you need is Wide Pollution.

You may use some debuff/curses - Frozen ICE and Sleep may be helpful - frozen ice is quite useful specially if youre gonna kill mobs who are 10 lvls above you or if youre gonna kill mini bosses like Enchanted tonkens.

Since you will be using normal-dagger atks. The Crit Boosters will affect your dmg.

You dont need to put dex and str - you can get this from your dagger or acc or items.

Anyways this build is good from lvl 1-50ish.

This works in the same way as a AGI dhan build.

You can always get the reset skill at lvl 65 smile.gif

ENJOY!

Rohan Philippines

Wee!!!! Finally my newest favorite Online MMO is here in the Philippines!!!

Ok Rohan was made by YNK (a korean game developer). Now Rohan is an online RPG that can be played by lots of players simuletanously.

I'm pretty sure you've seen other rohan sites before and they'll say VENGANCE is what separates it from the rest. While this may be true, its not certainly true for me.

(pic on the top left is my char in iRohan MakhreMuirsong taking shots of Aquarias - Water Clock Temple boss a flying serpent- remember a serpent is a lizard without legs hehehe NOT a snake)

What I find great about Rohan is/ARE:
  1. You can create your own build; ok when i say build it simply means how your char will function. Each character-class will depend on a "stat" point, in Rohan your char can be totally unique since you can customize your character's abilities through its Stat-BUILD, Skill build and Item Build. Possibilities are nearly endless.
  2. You can play it solo or not - Unlike most MMOs that really wants you to pull your friends to play too, Rohan can/will allow you to play solo.
  3. The grafix are not too flashy, its easy on the pc and on the EYES!
  4. While many will call this a cheap knock off of WoW - for me its like the other way around. WoW cant really be played solo.
  5. Grinding is rather easy in rohan.
  6. Oh the EXCHANGE MARKET - me love this feature, makes me feel... hehehehehe :)
Rohan will definitely be a great addition to the online entertainment arsenal provided by Level Up Philippines.

In the beginning...

Ok, i'm not really that jaded, but this blog is my blog ^_^ and I will share my opinions about whatever is out based on what I know and what I think. Feel free to react, but I do hope you guys respect another's opinion.

I have no plans of flaming/bashing any body online. I just see a lot of things that I dont agree about.

Also this blog will focus on things that are interesting to me :)
